Independent travel guide. Curated routes & verified local operators.
⚠ Draft for legal review. This document was prepared as a starting point for review by a UK-qualified solicitor with consumer-law experience. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer. Before publishing publicly, have a solicitor confirm it complies with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK GDPR, and Turkish Consumer Protection Law where relevant.

The three things that matter most

1. Who we are and what we do

Explore Lycia is an independent travel directory operated by Pixelo Mobile Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 10585806). We publish editorial information about paragliding, sailing, diving, hiking, accommodation and other operators on Turkey's southwest coast.

When you submit an enquiry through one of our forms, we forward your details to the operator you selected. That's it. We don't take payment, sell tickets, or contract on the operator's behalf. Our service to you is the editorial information and the lead-forwarding mechanism.

2. Submitting a booking enquiry

2.1 When you fill in our enquiry form, you authorise us to forward the details you provide to the operator you selected. Those details typically include:

2.2 We aim to forward your enquiry within 60 seconds. The operator decides whether to respond, when, and on what terms. Most operators respond within 24 hours during their operating season.

2.3 Submitting an enquiry does not create a booking. A booking only exists when you and the operator agree price, date, and terms directly — usually by email or WhatsApp.

2.4 We don't guarantee the operator will respond, will have availability, or will offer the price displayed in our directory. If you don't hear back within 48 hours, please contact us at hello@explorelycia.com and we'll follow up on your behalf.

3. Your contract is with the operator

3.1 The operator is solely responsible for:

3.2 We are not:

3.3 Any contract for the activity is concluded directly between you and the operator. We are not a party to that contract and accept no liability under it.

4. Safety — please read this

Adventure activities carry inherent risk. Paragliding from Babadağ has an excellent overall safety record (roughly 250,000 tandem flights per year), but injuries and rare fatalities have occurred. Sailing, diving, and hiking carry their own risks. By submitting an enquiry and ultimately booking, you accept that risk knowingly.

4.1 Operators we list publicly hold themselves out as being licensed and insured. We do not independently inspect operators' equipment, audit their pilots, or verify their day-to-day safety practices. Our editorial inclusion of an operator is not an endorsement of safety or fitness for purpose.

4.2 Before flying, sailing, or diving, you should:

5. Travel insurance

Standard travel insurance often excludes paragliding and other "extreme sports." Check your policy carefully. If you don't have appropriate cover and something goes wrong, you may be personally liable for medical evacuation, hospital bills, and repatriation — which can run to tens of thousands of pounds.

Specialist insurers who typically cover paragliding, scuba diving and adventure sports include World Nomads (Explorer tier), Battleface, True Traveller, and SafetyWing (with adventure add-on). This is not financial advice and we don't earn commission from these recommendations — we mention them because they're widely used by adventure travellers.

6. Pricing and currency

6.1 Prices shown in our directory are the operator's quoted indicative prices, typically in US Dollars. They are not offers and are not guaranteed.

6.2 The operator may quote you a different price based on your specific dates, party size, currency conversion, peak-season demand, or package customisation. The price you pay is the price you and the operator agree directly.

6.3 We do not handle any payment to the operator. Any card transaction or bank transfer happens between you and the operator.

7. Refunds, cancellations, and complaints

7.1 Refunds and cancellations are governed by the operator's own policy and applicable consumer law in their jurisdiction (Turkish Consumer Protection Law no. 6502 for Turkish operators). Address refund requests to the operator directly.

7.2 If you cannot resolve a dispute with the operator and you believe we should know about it (e.g. consistent quality concerns, unsafe behaviour, deceptive pricing), please email hello@explorelycia.com with the details. We may delist operators based on credible evidence, but we cannot adjudicate individual disputes or compel refunds — we have no contractual relationship with the operator about your specific booking.

7.3 Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights against the operator under the law applicable to your booking.

8. Your data

8.1 When you submit an enquiry, you consent to us forwarding the details to the named operator. We act as data controller for the data you submit until forwarding; the operator is a separate independent data controller for what they do with your data after that.

8.2 We retain a record of your enquiry for up to 12 months for follow-up, customer service, and quality monitoring. After that we delete or anonymise it.

8.3 We do not share your data with third parties beyond the operator you select. We do not sell your data. We do not add you to marketing lists from your enquiry alone — that requires separate consent (e.g. signing up for our newsletter).

8.4 Full detail in our Privacy Policy, including your rights under UK GDPR (access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, complaint to the ICO).

9. Our liability

9.1 We provide the directory and lead-forwarding service "as is." We do not warrant uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or any commercial outcome from your enquiry.

9.2 To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability to you in connection with our service is limited to direct losses you can prove arose from our actual fault, capped at the greater of £100 or any amount you paid us (if any — ordinarily nothing, since enquiries are free).

9.3 We do not exclude or limit liability for:

9.4 We are not liable for any act, omission, breach, injury, loss, damage, or claim arising from the activity itself or the operator's conduct. Those liabilities sit with the operator under your direct contract with them.

9.5 Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll publish the updated version on this page with the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be flagged on the home page for at least 14 days. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law and disputes

12.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

12.2 If you are a UK consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the country in which you live, or in the English courts. We may bring proceedings against you only in the courts of the country in which you live.

12.3 If you are not a UK consumer, the English courts have exclusive jurisdiction.

Reminder: this draft requires legal review before being relied upon. Your solicitor should pay particular attention to clauses 3 (operator-as-counterparty positioning), 4 & 5 (safety and travel-insurance disclosures, which are the highest-stakes clauses for adventure activities), and 9 (liability limitation under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 fairness test).
