The very cheapest rates shouted on the Hisarönü and Ölüdeniz strip can be real — but they can also be the standard flight dressed up as the long one, or a hard GoPro sell on the mountain. The choice that matters most is where you launch from, because that sets your altitude and air time.
Standard flight (~1700 m)
Launches from the mid-mountain ramp. Still a proper flight over the lagoon with a beach landing, and the cheapest way to fly — but you're lower and down sooner. Fine if budget is tight or the wind only allows the lower launch that day. Many people, in hindsight, wish they'd paid a little more for the height.
Long / high flight (~1965 m)
The full summit launch off Babadağ. More altitude, a longer glide, the big sweeping view down the coast and over the Blue Lagoon, and the version almost everyone means when they picture Ölüdeniz paragliding. For a modest step up in price you get a noticeably better flight. This is the one to book.
Acro / aerobatic flight
The same summit climb, but your pilot adds spirals, wingovers and steep dives once you're clear of the launch. Genuinely exhilarating if that's what you came for — and genuinely nauseating if it isn't. Only book it if you actively want the adrenaline and travel well; you can't really un-spin it once you're up there.
What's included — and what's not
A reputable operator's price is more all-in than first-timers expect. What you should normally get for the quoted figure:
- Jeep transfer up the mountain — the bumpy ride up the Babadağ access road to the launch is part of the experience and part of the price
- All gear and the harness — wing, harness, helmet; you bring nothing
- A licensed tandem pilot — they handle take-off, the flight and the landing
- Insurance — flight insurance is standard with established operators (ask)
- Hotel pick-up & drop-off — normally included within Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü and Ovacık; confirm for Fethiye, which may cost a little more or need a meeting point

The footage is genuinely good — it's the shot you can't get yourself — and for a once-in-a-lifetime flight, plenty of people are glad they bought it.
Why the price swings so much
Two forces move the number. First, Turkey's inflation and the lira: euro-priced operators re-quote as the rate shifts, so a figure that was right last month may be stale, in either direction. Second, demand by season and time of day. Ölüdeniz runs like a factory in July and August — hundreds of flights a day — and the midday peak commands top prices. The same flight on a quiet shoulder-season morning is both cheaper and, frankly, nicer: smoother air, shorter waits, and a pilot who isn't rushing his eighth flight before lunch.
