Short answer

Pre-book a private saloon for €40–60. Driver meets at arrivals with a placard, drives direct to Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü, or Ovacık (same road, no surcharge between them). 75 minutes door-to-door. Pay cash on arrival or card at booking.

The shared shuttle goes only as far as Fethiye otogar — you’ll then need a dolmuş or taxi up to Ölüdeniz, totalling 2.5–3 hours with bags. For two or more travellers it’s rarely worth saving the €30 for that hassle. Solo on a tight budget, the dolmuş is fine.

What's included

Meet-and-greet at arrivals

Driver waits with a name placard at the airport exit. 60–90 min wait time post-flight included. Flight is auto-tracked from your airline + flight number.

Direct hotel drop

Door-to-door — Belceğiz Beach hotels, Hisarönü main strip, Ovacık side-streets, Faralya road, all the same fare bracket within Ölüdeniz/Hisarönü/Ovacık.

All road tolls + steep-road navigation

The Ovacık-to-Ölüdeniz descent is a steep, twisty 8 km — drivers know it. The road condition is good but unfamiliar drivers can be slow, costing 10–15 min.

Bottled water + child seats on request

Water included by most operators. Child or booster seats free on request when you pre-book — flag at the time of booking, not on the day.

Drop-off variants within Ölüdeniz / Hisarönü

All three neighbourhoods sit on the same road within 5 km of each other. Pre-booked transfers handle the entire pocket at the same fare:

Drop-offDrive time from DLMSaloon price
Ovacık (top of the hill)1h05€40–55
Hisarönü main strip1h10€40–55
Ölüdeniz / Belceğiz Beach1h15€45–60
Faralya (15 km past Ölüdeniz)1h30€55–80
Kabak Valley (end of the road)1h45€65–95

For Faralya and Kabak the road becomes single-lane with hairpins past Ovacık — confirm with the operator that the driver knows it. Most do; new drivers occasionally don’t.

The route

Dalaman Airport (DLM) sits inland from the Mediterranean coast. The standard route to Ölüdeniz:

  1. Exit airport on the access road (5 min) connecting to the D550.
  2. D550 south-east through Sarıgerme + Göcek for 20–25 min — passes Göcek bay and the marina.
  3. Junction onto the D400 coastal road, east into Fethiye (10 min).
  4. Through Fethiye, then up the climb to Ovacık (10 min, mountainside switchbacks).
  5. At Ovacık, fork left and descend to Ölüdeniz / Belceğiz Beach (5 min, steep).

Total ~75 minutes door-to-door. Add 10–20 min for Saturday afternoon peak traffic in July–August.

What to ask before you book

Ölüdeniz hotels are spread across three pockets — Belceğiz Beach, Hisarönü, and Ovacık — and the Faralya/Kabak road continues another 25 minutes past. The questions that matter for this route:

  1. “Does the driver know the descent from Ovacık down to Belceğiz?” The 8 km zig-zag from the top of the hill into Ölüdeniz is steep, twisty, and unfamiliar drivers go slow. Confirm experience.
  2. “Is paragliding-gear / dive-gear oversize OK in the saloon?” Ölüdeniz is paragliding central — passengers often have rigs. Estate or minivan handles bags better than the saloon.
  3. “If my hotel is up the Faralya road, is that the same fare or extra?” Faralya/Kabak is 15–25 min past Ölüdeniz, on a single-lane road. Some operators upcharge €20–30; some include it.
  4. “Can the driver call my hotel on approach?” Some Hisarönü/Ovacık side streets are hard to find. Sharing the hotel WhatsApp at booking removes the issue.
  5. “What if my flight is delayed past midnight — same price?” Confirm the late-night surcharge in writing. It usually applies for arrivals between 11pm and 6am.
